When you are looking at my work from the past several years, it is made up of many different styles of photographs. Those photographs consist of different places I have been to and various people I met along the way. I love everything I see, so I consider myself more of an explorer in different areas than other senior photographers who have already developed their concepts, which inspires me to learn more.

I see photography as a process of storytelling and thinking, as well as a way to document life. I enjoy meeting new people, talking with them, and hearing different experiences and stories. I spent more time photographing at night than in daylight. Because at night, when things around me are quiet, I have more time to think and pay attention to the details that people usually overlook. I can feel free to stop and take time to appreciate the world.

I am always fascinated by the smallest details. It may be a broken fence; it may be a nondescript house. Sometimes, I don't even know why they appeal to me, but there is just something in them, like an arm that grabs me every time I walk past them. And I consider that a gift. Regarding the question of what represents me and what my talents are, I would put "passion" at the top of the list. I would drive 6 hours straight to get one picture down; I photograph every single day, and whenever I go out photographing, it is because I genuinely want to, not because I want to practice my skills (I mean, I did collect a ton of experiences through daily photographing). And I think my passion is what drives me forward and makes me put more time in because photography is what I want to do.

The reason why I love photography is also pretty simple. I am a very nostalgic person; I constantly think about my past and all the good old times. I realize how fleeting time is, and there will be a day that I wake up realizing I'm already past the mid-50s, looking at the young generation and lamenting my lost years of youth. I want to capture every detail that caught my eye in my 20s and share that unique perspective with other ages of me when I still can.
